With the role of “Social Bank”, we take care of low-income people, small entrepreneurs and community organizations to help reduce social inequality and escape poverty. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account ESG principles, which are responsible for the environment, society and good governance in order to become a sustainable bank.
The Government Savings Bank has organized a corporate social activity (CSR) “GSB for Samui: Samui Model” by supporting the Sufficiency Way School Project (Chicken Farm) for schools in Koh Samui, Surat Thani Province and Baan Mankong Savings Cooperative, totaling 11 locations to promote and develop the lives of students and people on Koh Samui District. We provide food source, educate the sufficiency economy model to help alleviate the burden for those affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. In addition, to ensure that the Sufficiency Way School Project (chicken farm) is in line with the objectives and can be extended to achieve sustainability concretely more efficiently, there is an extension support for additional lifestyle development projects. There are options to choose from: the Sufficiency Way School Project (Chicken Farm), the Sufficiency Economy Garden Project. (planting vegetable gardens) and school fishery projects (fish farming).
GSB recognizes the importance of encouraging young people to spend their free time profitably, have good health and immunity in social and environmental problems. We therefore have organized a project to promote sports skills. The school bank competes in 2 types of sports, namely football (boys) under the age of 18 years and basketball (boys) under the age of 18 years. We set up an activity area for young people to show their talents in sports and promote learning as well as developing skills to bring this ability to take advantage of entering higher education and step into a career path in the future.

From the role of “Social Bank” by taking care of low-income people, small entrepreneurs, and community organizations, GSB is aware of conducting business according to ESG guidelines, which are responsible towards society and the environment and have good governance in order to move towards a sustainable bank contributed to the society in reducing poverty problems and reducing social inequality.
It is an implementation of the policy of driving GSB towards being a social bank and focusing on solving people’s problems clearly and concretely. We focus on helping and relieving the suffering of the victims or anything else in a timely manner. We also strengthen good relations with the community to be a socially responsible institution in response to the government’s policy in preventive measures for the spread of the COVID-19 virus urgently.

It is an inspiration to all sectors of Thai society to realize and appreciate His Majesty’s royal initiatives to develop and build Thai society towards sustainability. GSB therefore has prepared “Wisdom Bank Project” to preserve, conserve, restore, develop and extend wisdom to the world which requires thought, feeling, and high effort. The value of wisdom can inspire, build knowledge and create a wide variety of products. All of them are harmoniously integrated into the way of life. It will lead to improvement, extension of creating a career, creating jobs and generating income. It also encourages Thai people to return to their homeland and love their homeland as well as bringing knowledge return to create and develop local wisdom.
