Government Savings Bank launches the \u201cHolistic Area Based Development\u201d Project in collaboration with Mae Fah Luang Foundation under the Royal Patronage to develop 5 villages on the top of Doi Piang Sor in Nan Province as a model for holistic development that meets its sustainability goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarting from a small point, Government Savings Bank initiated the project and brought about concrete changes in the area, leading to success. If this is gradually implemented in multiple areas following this prototype and continued expanding its impact, whether it is by the Bank itself or other organizations adopting a similar approach, it would contribute to assistance network in different areas throughout the country such as the initiative in Khun Nan Subdistrict, one of the most difficult areas, if success is achieved, any area in Thailand would have the potential to be developed to attain such success.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is another commitment and goal that Government Savings Bank emphasizes in driving its social banking mission in the Holistic Area-Based Development Project. It is part of social mission integration into key operational processes to drive positive social impact in the society to achieve tangible outcomes.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Government Savings Bank continues to support the development by allocating some budgets for other development dimensions to be carried out by the Bank’s personnel, both from the center and GSB Region 9 (Nan Province), such as seeking for sources of funds, solving debt problems as well as creating other income-generating occupations besides agriculture, such as career promotion for 18 homestay entrepreneurs who have passed a standard homestay training from the Department of Tourism, Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration and Airbnb; vocational training by Pua Technical College; support of education and promotion of ICT teaching and learning through collaboration with the CONNEXT ED Foundation; promotion of financial literacy\/ savings through the Satja Savings Group; support of medical equipment to Sub-District Health Promoting Hospitals; and activities of volunteers on basic utilities.<\/p>\n
